Public Housing Flood Insurance
Housing Authority Insurance Group offers flood insurance through the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). NFIP recognized HAI Group
as its Agent of The Year in 2004. Coverage for damage caused by
overflow of inland or tidal waters; excessive and unusual
accumulation of surface water; mud-slides; sewer backup due to
flooding; and erosion of land along the shore where floods are
caused by excessive waves is available.
HUD requires
properties located in designated high risk flood zone to be insured with
flood coverage. If you are not sure what flood zone risk level your
property is located in, call us at 800-873-0242 ext. 639 and we will determine
that for you.
- Separate policy for each building.
- Available to housing authorities located in communities
participating in the National Flood Insurance Program as well as
those with property located on a 100-year floodplain.
- HUD bidding requirements not waived.
Increased Cost of Compliance Coverage
This coverage, also known as Coverage D, provides up to
$30,000 additional flood protection to cover the expense of
rebuilding facilities to meet state floodplain law requirements.
