First Runner Up Denver Housing Authority, Denver, CO Automated Work Order Inspection Service Codes DHA had been experiencing residents tampering with smoke/fire detectors resulting in the detectors being rendered inoperable. A procedure was developed that every time a work order was generated, three specific service codes would be printed for action items. The service codes are 0152 – Inspect GFI Outlet, 213 – Inspect Electrical Breaker and 0218 – Inspect Smoke/Fire Alarm. This helpful guide is intended as a proactive means of making employees aware of safety in the work place. Newark Housing Authority, Newark, NY Mold and Mildew Mitigation The Newark Housing Authority has taken steps to reduce the likelihood of mold and mildew growth in its public housing units by making modifications to the units to improve ventilation and educating tenants. There are health risks associated with mold and mildew and other interior air quality problems, which the NHA wanted to mitigate.
