Ed Malaspina

Chief Executive Officer and President

Ed is the president and chief executive officer of HAI Group, where he is responsible for overseeing the organization's strategy. A 30-year affordable housing industry veteran, Ed has worked closely with housing authorities and affordable housing providers on a variety of initiatives that involve insurance, accreditation, and financial products. Ed is a Certified Public Housing Manager (C-PHM), licensed insurance producer, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), excess and surplus lines broker, licensed claims adjuster, real estate broker, and a Governance Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Ed joined HAI Group in 1991. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Hartford and a master's degree in business administration from Albertus Magnus College.

Amy Galvin

Chief Governance Officer and Corporate Secretary

Amy is HAI Group's chief governance officer and corporate secretary. In this role, she directs the people, processes, and systems within the company that are necessary to support HAI Group's Board of Directors and internally within our organization. Prior to her current role, Amy served as the company's assistant treasurer, director of finance, and director of enterprise risk management. Before joining HAI Group in 2002, she was chief of staff to the chief financial officer of CIGNA Healthcare; prior to that she was a financial analyst at OTIS Elevator. Amy began her career as an auditor with KPMG, LLP. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Connecticut.

Courtney Rice

Chief Communications Officer and Assistant Corporate Secretary

As HAI Group's chief communications officer and assistant corporate secretary, Courtney is responsible for overseeing the company's marketing and communications department, research nonprofit company, online training division, and facilities department, which includes safety and physical security. She also oversees the office of the chief executive officer and serves the board of directors and committee members, as well as corporate governance. Prior to her current role, Courtney served as HAI Group's chief of staff and assistant corporate secretary. She founded and managed the company's communications department, and created and led the company's award-winning ReThink initiative, a campaign that garnered national attention by highlighting the importance of public housing. Prior to joining HAI Group in 2012, Courtney spent more than 10 years in the communications field, where she specialized in corporate branding, employee communications, public relations, event management, and social media, and worked with such renowned brands as Starbucks, Pulte Homes, L'Oréal Paris, NBC Universal, Jiffy Lube International, and Yoplait Yogurt. Courtney holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from Quinnipiac University.

Troy LePage

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

As chief financial officer and treasurer, Troy LePage is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of finance, information technology, cybersecurity, data analytics, and reinsurance for the organization, which he joined in 2017. Prior to his current role, Troy held senior-level positions, including director of enterprise compliance and chief compliance officer, within HAI Group, and has served on the Executive Management Team since 2018. Before that, Troy was a senior manager at Deloitte LLP, where he worked with a variety of clients, with a particular focus on the financial services and insurance industries. Troy is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Connecticut, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA). Troy maintains his Property and Casualty Insurance Producer and Surplus Lines Broker licenses. He holds both a master's and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Sherry Sullivan

Chief Insurance Officer and Vice President

As chief insurance officer, Sherry is responsible for overseeing the company's insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, risk management, product development, and sales. Sherry brings more than 30 years of experience in low-income multifamily housing and insurance to HAI Group. Since joining the company in 1987, she has held roles of increasing responsibility, and she played a pivotal role in creating many of the organization's products and companies. A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Sherry holds numerous certifications in the housing and insurance industries. She is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), licensed insurance producer, Certified Public Housing Manager (C-PHM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU).
