Hello members,
Jim Dipaolo

We recently held our June 2018 Board of Directors and Committee Meetings. The meetings were all very productive, and we wanted to take a moment to thank our Committee Members and Board of Directors for all of their hard work and dedication to the organization. Their participation in regular conference calls and meetings are crucial to the success of HAI Group’s governance structure, and their time and efforts are greatly appreciated. We would also like to take the opportunity to share some of the many items that were discussed throughout the previous weeks. Below are some of the approved action items that our Committees brought to the Board of Directors:

  • Director, outside director, and corporate officers position nominations for 2019
  • Joint audit plan with Crowe Horwath LLP
  • Extension of the Crowe Horwath LLP contract for a two year period
  • Acceptance of Blum Shapiro 401K Audit
  • HSIC Capital Contribution
  • Amendment to Resident Scholarship Program official rules

The Board of Directors also discussed and approved a five-year strategic framework presented by management. This framework will be used to guide the operations of the organization to achieve, sustain, and enhance HAI Group’s long-term competitive advantage. HAI Group desires to be a one-stop-resource that offers end-to-end solutions that protect and preserve assets while enhancing life outcomes in low-income communities, and this framework is intended to bring this vision of our company closer to fruition. The framework focuses on three major areas: 1) growth of the business 2) satisfaction of customers/members and 3) regulatory compliance.

We also want to take the opportunity to remind everyone that the Board of Directors annual elections are approaching. This year, an election management service called MyDirectVote will be utilized to collect the membership’s ballots electronically. Executive directors, CEOs, and committee members will be receiving notification in July to introduce them to the service administering the vote.

Lastly, the HAI Group Annual Meeting will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 27, 2018. All members are invited to participate and formal notification of the meeting will be sent to all members this summer and will include the necessary registration forms to attend. In conjunction with this meeting, the HADA event will take place on September 25 and 26.

Enjoy your summer!

Regards,
